Clowning around at the Halloween Ceilidh
Clowning around at the Halloween Ceilidh

Halloween Ceilidh
We regularly hold a fancy dress celidh for halloween and all sorts of ghosts and ghoulies turn out.

Year round we hire local bands for our own ceilidh nights and are also regulars at the Celtic Connections events.

Burns Supper
There's always a strong turnout for the annual Burns night. A bit of a special do with full dinner, toasts, speeches and the immortal memory.

Eating Out
Meals out are well attended, you name it we've been there. Costs range from cheap buffet nights through to some of the city's better restaurants. Recently meals have been held at Est Est Est, Balbir's (Indian Veggie), Antoniou's (Greek), Mao's, Sarti's, Papingo, Peking Inn and Kubla Khan.

Cycling
Days out have included a Sunday afternoon round Loch Rannoch, approximately 20 miles and cycling 14 miles part way round Loch Katrine.

Water Divining
Yes, we went water divining. Reportedly this involved wire coat hangers (yes really).

Gliding
We've been Gliding and hung on for dear life!!

Indoor Climbing
At the indoor climbing centre in Ibrox. Popular with fit adrenalin junkies.

Curling
Try out one of Scotland's ancient ice sports - and don't worry most people going along are beginners!

Pub Nights and Pub Crawls
Meet for a few drinks and intellectual conversation (well maybe not) in a local pub. For more ambitious drinkers from time to time we organise pub crawls, some with a competitive element to them - contact the self appointed pub crawl co-ordinator for details. Pub nights have been held at Bar 38, Henry's and Hogshead Woodlands.

Seventies Nights
Flares Bar in Bath Street and the Strawberry Fields nightclub have seen certain sad individuals attempting to strut their stuff to the hits of the seventies.

Back to the 50's in fancy dress Back to the 50's!

Clubbing
We've done the rounds of many of the city's clubs such as Fury Murry's, Trash, Velvet Rooms and Destiny.

Go Kart Racing
Honda Pilot buggy racing outdoors near Dunfermline. Also indoor track racing at Clydebank and other tracks.

Classical Concerts
Including Glasgow Chamber Orchestra, BBC SSO, RSNO and the Bearsden Choir.

Comedy Nights
Local comedy nights at The Stand in Woodlands Road.

Medieval Banquet
We hired Linlithgow Palace and dressed up for a full medieval banquet by candlelight. A unique and memorable evening in this ancient setting. This is an excellent example of the club at its best.

Wine Tastings
In fact our drink tastings often extend beyond wine, we've held 'Red Hot Cocktail' evenings (mix the poisons of your choice), Whisky tastings and Beer tastings.

Parties
Drinks, nibbles, dancing after a few. You know the story... If you'd like to volunteer your flat for the evening please feel free. We also organise an annual Christmas dinner dance.

Barbecues
We've done barbecues in back gardens, by the coast and up at Loch Lomond. Sometimes it's even sunny.

Theatre
The cheapskates that most of us are, we're particularly keen on the opening nights at The Citizens which are often free or only a few pounds. Visits have included Death in Venice and Noel Coward's Cavalcade.

Sailing crew

Sailing
We've chartered two Sunfast 36' yachts from Largs Yacht Haven for a weekend sailing in the lower Clyde area including Rothsay and Tarbert. Sailing weekends are organised at least twice a year. Very active and enthusiastic yachting group need you to crew - no experience required.

Hill Walking
Gentle summer rambles through to more ambitious munro bagging depending on your stamina levels. A recent event was a Arrochar Alps Walking Weekend  - staying in Ardgarten youth hostel to enjoy some of Argyll's finest scenery and bag some Munros.

Day Trips
Examples include a visit Dundee to see the Discovery Centre and the Frigate Unicorn. We're also over to Fringe Sunday during the Edinburgh Festival.
